Club kit

Clothing, hats and goggles

We recommend that when you join, you purchase a club polo shirt and BSSC swim hat. Unnamed swim hats are fine to start with and will arrive quicker, as named hats are only ordered a few times each season. These are available from our official club kit supplier Stortford Sports Supplies.

At Open Meets and Galas (such as Peanuts League) it is compulsory that you wear club polo shirt, with black bottoms.  You may wear any colour costume, but a club swim hat must be worn when competing. A named club rucksack is useful for meets as poolside can get chaotic and it will be safe place for your swimmer’s belongings.

BSSC Hoodies are available to buy from our suppliers but are only to be worn on the journey to and from competitions, and must not be worn on poolside.

Please read the BSSC guide to competitions for more detailed information and advice on purchasing race suits and goggles.

Swim training kit

The swimming equipment you need will depend upon the squad you are joining and you should have been advised what you need as you joined the club. As a minimum, your swimmer will need a kick board, pull buoy, ankle band and fins, all named and stored in a mesh bag that they will bring to training each time along with their water bottle. The table below shows the equipment required for the 2022-23 season
