Wow, 2024 is just flying by! There has been lots to celebrate so far this season, so we’ve had plenty to write about in this new edition of Babble. The new coaching team is now in place, several Club records have been smashed (and it’s only April!), 64 top-three finishes were secured at Counties and
six Benjamins and Poussins swimmers have been awarded Swimmer of the
Month in 2024. We hope you enjoy reading this edition as much as we’ve enjoyed bringing together all the articles.

Happy – slightly belated – New Year!  We hope 2024 is treating you well so far and you’re looking forward to competing in or cheering loudly at the Swim England Hertfordshire County Championships over the next three weekends!  In this edition of Babble we have exciting news about the rebirth of the Swimmer of the Month Awards, details on our first Open Meet since 2019 and lots of interesting articles from Team Managers and Officials that will hopefully convince more of you to give it a go! We look back at the successes during the start of the 2023/24 season, including winning promotion to the National Arena Swimming League London Premier Division and the great Club Championships Award night we shared in December. Welcome back to another season!  We hope you are suitably refreshed from the summer break and raring to get back into training and competitions.  This edition of Babble not only looks forward to the events of the next few months, but takes time to reflect on and celebrate the superb achievements of so many of our members through the end of the last season.  So grab a cuppa (or your favourite tipple) and please take some time to enjoy the successes of our club.

Anybody know where the past few months since September have disappeared to? If you’re anything like us, you are not quite sure how we’re in 2023 already. It’s an exciting part of the season ahead for our swimmers and it kicks off with the Swim England Hertfordshire County Championships starting on 21st Jan. We wish our 39 qualifiers the best of luck! For those of you stuck in a cold car park because of the no spectators rule, here’s the latest edition of our newsletter to keep you entertained!
